Nano scientist, entrepreneur and inventor, Dr. Dellinger has held positions in enterprise leadership, academic instruction, and led Federal grant programs. He holds an AS.c. in Biology from Northern Virginia Community College, a BS.c. in Forensic Science, with minors in Biology, Chemistry and Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a PhD in Nanoscience from the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN, a collaboration between University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University).

Dellinger focused his graduate research on the effect of carboxyfullerene nanomaterials on biological systems. Fullerenes are carbon spheres with unique electrical properties and biological function, with potential for an array of therapeutic, diagnostic and theranostic applications. His dissertation examined the synthesis and characterization of zero-dimensional (0D) nanoparticles with modified side chain chemical moieties and elucidated anti-inflammatory cellular mechanisms to prevent or inhibit the release of chemical mediators. Dellinger has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications that have contributed to the global body of fullerene research.

Since relocating to the Caribbean and moving beyond traditional corporate roles, Terry Earl Brady has guided formation of Kepley BioSystems, Inc. and AT Research Partners, participated in original research and publications, multiple National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) development grants, and pursued an “invent first” strategy to protect several inventions through the successful pro se prosecution and issuance of multiple patents. His interests include infectious disease diagnostics and novel contraceptive (family planning) methods using functionalized fullerenes, as well as oceanic species restoration and sustainability, obesity, unassisted robotic surgery, and organ preservation and tissue transplantation.

Dr. Lowell Hughes is a world-class surgeon and a quintessential icon representing the best of Anguillian culture and character. The entire region has benefited from his commitment to practice in Anguilla – and nearby rotations – for the last 35 years, in addition to the pharmacy, dentistry and clinical lab services at the Hughes Medical Centre. While his surgical and patient management skills could have catapulted him to chair any teaching hospital department from Scotland to Canada to the US, his dedication to providing unmatched care in Anguilla has nonetheless afforded him a diverse and meaningful practice. From diabetes and blood pressure management to flu shots to radiology and oncology, he has cared for an entire community while complementing his primary work in aesthetic procedures – in addition to reconstructive surgery for burn, accident, and cleft palate cases.

Environmental and economic dynamics in an island of 15,000 people with high energy costs have also fostered an entrepreneurial skillset that has encompassed directing a permanent and itinerant medical team including specialists in internal medicine, gynecology, cardiology, urology, and pediatrics, as well as customizing renewable energy systems for his medical center and residence − and participating in the development of intellectual property with AT Research Partners founder, Terry Brady. After years of frustration in caring for patients needing to lose weight, especially before surgery, his leadership in the feasibility study and Lactova™ patent and CIP has been transformative.

After leading customer satisfaction measurement and initiatives for the US diagnostics affiliate of a leading healthcare company – and then for its pharmaceuticals clinical operations for ten years, Melinda formed her own business as an independent consultant to companies likewise committed to achieving their business results by delighting their customers – and retained her former company as one of her clients for another ten years.
